Lift Off at Sunlight Mountain Resort
Ready to hit the slopes? This winter is shaping up to be one for the books at Sunlight Mountain Resort, where the lifts have gotten a major modern makeover. The 1954-era Primo and Segundo lifts have been lovingly retired and replaced with new lifts that can now whisk up to three people at a time up the mountain. That means less time waiting in lines and more time spent tearing up the slopes. Faster, smoother, and more comfortable than ever, the new lifts are your ticket to extra laps at Glenwood’s hometown hill.
Wellness Boost with Iron Mountain Hot Springs Expansion
Iron Mountain Hot Springs has officially broken ground on a new expansion called “The Summit.” The highly anticipated expansion project will feature five new thermal soaking experiences alongside three dedicated plunge pools. The new pools will be centered around the practice of contrast bathing—alternating between hot and cold temperatures to stimulate both body and mind. Opening in 2026, The Summit will take inspiration from global bathing traditions, including Turkish hammam, Finnish barrel sauna, Korean hanjeungmak, Russian banya, and Polish salt therapy. It’s world-tour wellness in a one-stop location!

Snowy nights, twinkling lights, and mountain-top magic, that’s Winter on the Mountain at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The mountain top theme park kicks off a fresh season of festivities starting November 21. Then, for nine consecutive weekends, the Park becomes a winter wonderland. During the dark days of winter, the Adventure Park is a bona fide bright spot on the horizon, especially for those who don’t ski or just want to take a break from the slopes. Throughout the holiday season, there’s live music and visits with Santa. Hotel 1888 Offers New Boutique Lodging
The historic bathhouse at Glenwood Hot Springs opened in 1888. Since then, the landmark structure has undergone numerous renovations, the most recent iteration is Hotel 1888, a name that recalls its storied past. Located alongside the historic Grand Pool, the hotel boasts just 16 rooms. Amid a relaxing color palette and surrounded by beautiful architectural details, guests are invited to relax in European-style elegance. Included with stays at Hotel 1888, guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the 1888 Bistro, unlimited soaking in the seven mineral hot springs pools during business hours, and access to the Athletic Club, conveniently located in the building.
Prost to Relaxation at the Bohemian Bier Spa
Adding to the European-inspired ambiance of Glenwood Springs, the Bohemian Bier Spa is set to open in December. Located downtown, the fully restored 140-year-old building at the corner of Eighth St. and Colorado Ave. is raising the bar on spa services in the hot springs town. The spa offers private therapy rooms for up to four guests, with rooms featuring rain showers, infrared saunas, and beer bath soaking tubs. The soaks use health-boosting ingredients found in beer, including barley, hops, yeast, and other botanicals. A 2000-year tradition, beer baths have been known to improve complexion, treat skin conditions, reduce inflammation, hydrate the skin, prevent signs of early aging, stimulate the circulatory system, and relieve joint and muscle pain. Pair your soak with a local craft beer and you’ve got the perfect Glenwood Springs après-activity experience.
New Parks & Pretty Streets
The City of Glenwood Springs has also been busy with updates and beautification projects that enhance the town’s welcoming appeal! North Landing Park, at the north end of the pedestrian bridge, is set to open in late November 2025. It will feature public art, shaded seating, a performance pergola, and a grassy central lawn perfect for relaxing any time of year. The final phase, which includes restrooms and a water fountain, will wrap up in the spring. Meanwhile, the finishing touches on Sixth Street are nearly complete. What was once a five-lane highway has been transformed into a pedestrian-friendly shopping promenade that links the hotel district, attractions, and the downtown core, including Restaurant Row, for a seamless, walkable experience.
