Glenwood Springs Historical Society

The Glenwood Springs Historical Society  offers self-guided walking tour pamphlets; a map and accompanying text take visitors through Glenwood’s western history while strolling through the downtown core and surrounding neighborhoods. Be sure to leave time to hike to Linwood “Pioneer” Cemetery where outlaws John “Doc” Holliday and Harvey “Kid Curry” Logan are both buried.

During the month of October, the Glenwood Springs Historical Society and Frontier Museum hosts its annual Ghost Walk through Linwood Cemetery when the ghosts of Glenwood’s past return for a few evenings of entertainment and education. The Ghost Walk is family friendly, and while a spirited air of spookiness surrounds the event, the “ghosts” are portrayed by actors who bring a magical quality to each performance. They also impart interesting historical anecdotes about what it was like to live in Glenwood Springs in the late 1880s to early 1900s.
