Hanging Lake Trail Reopens July 1
One of Colorado’s most iconic hikes is back and better than ever! After extensive reconstruction, the 1.2-mile Hanging Lake Trail—famous for its turquoise lake and triple waterfalls—reopens on July 1. Improvements included the rebuilding of seven bridges and trail upgrades to withstand seasonal runoff and rainfall. Work will continue at the trailhead and Spouting Rock through the fall, but the trail itself is ready to welcome hikers once again. Hiking reservations are required and are available for purchase now.

The Rocky Mountaineer’s Rockies to the Red Rocks route now includes a two-night stop in Glenwood Springs—giving travelers ample time to soak in the town’s famed hot springs, explore outdoor adventures, and enjoy downtown dining and shopping. With the historic train depot located in the heart of town and the city’s new on-demand Downtowner shuttle, it’s easier than ever to explore car-free. Prost! Bohemian Bier Spa to Open Late Summer
Leave it to Glenwood Springs to take the art of beer enjoyment to a whole new level. Soak in something different at the Bohemian Bier Spa, opening in a beautifully restored 140-year-old downtown building. The spa combines the relaxation of traditional wellness regimens with the ancient therapeutic benefits of beer. What can you expect? Botanical-infused and mineral-rich beer baths, infrared saunas, and private rooms for up to 4 people. As a bonus, sip a cold one while you soak. Eins, zwei, Spa!
Luxe New Accommodations at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort
The historic Glenwood Hot Springs Resort—open since 1888—is making waves of a different sort. In May 2024, the geothermal hot spot unveiled the Yampah Mineral Baths—an aquatic wellness journey featuring five new pools at the east end of the pool property. Now, they’re raising the bar again, this time with new, luxurious lodging. In addition to completing a full renovation of all 107 rooms at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge, the resort will open Hotel 1888, a boutique hotel in the landmark stone bathhouse. The 14 upscale rooms and two high-end suites blend modern luxury and amenities with historic details, including vintage artifacts and photos. Hotel 1888 is expected to begin welcoming guests in June.
Iron Mountain Hot Springs Celebrates 10 Years
This summer, another Glenwood geothermal landmark is also in the spotlight. Iron Mountain Hot Springs marks a decade of welcoming visitors to relax, restore, and rejuvenate body and soul. The property is celebrating with improved amenities that include renovated locker rooms with keyless entry lockers, family-friendly upgrades on the Legacy side of the property, as well as food and drink specials throughout July. While you’re there, don’t miss WorldSprings, a 21-and-over area with globally inspired soaking pools.
New Little Feet Playground at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
As if over-the-edge thrill rides and stunning cave tours weren’t enough to draw visitors to America’s only mountaintop theme park, families with little ones will love the new Little Feet Playland at the Adventure Park. Geared toward delighting young explorers, adventurers can climb rocks, crawl through logs, balance on tree and turtle steppers, and play on the interactive play station. The rustic playground is crafted from natural materials like wood and stone, offering tots a captivating, alpine-inspired setting in which to climb, crawl, and discover at their own pace.
2025 Season of New Music
Turn up the volume! Summer 2025 highlights include Main Stage musical acts at the Strawberry Days Festival, held annually in June; the Music on the Mountain concert series at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, now featuring bigger bands and genre-themed nights; and the six-week Summer of Music, a local favorite, held Wednesdays at the bandshell in Two Rivers Park.
