Give your summer vacation playlist a boost by attending an outdoor concert in Glenwood Springs. Fresh air, amazing venues and a lively beat keep the music going all season long.

It’s finally summer and along with soaking in the hot springs and rafting the rivers, outdoor concerts are in full swing. Catch the sounds of summer at venues throughout Glenwood Springs.

Glenwood Springs Summer of Music takes place at Two Rivers Park every Wednesday, beginning June 29 and running for six consecutive weeks through August 3. Shows start at 6:30 p.m. with opening acts, many of which are local favorites. Headliner bands hail from all over the United States and bring an eclectic mix of rhythms and sounds. Claim your spot on the lawn with a blanket or folding chair. Chances are you won’t be in your seat for long though but dancing the night away in front of the park’s bandshell instead. Summer of Music concerts are free thanks to the generous sponsorship of local businesses, although donations are greatly appreciated to keep the music going next season. A few reminders, you can bring food and beverages, but please don’t bring glass to the park. The Summer of Music organizers remind you that dogs are not allowed in the park during the concerts.

This year’s headliners include Josefina Mendez, Dennis Stroughmatt & Creole Stomp, Peach Street Revival, The Johnny O. Band, The Long Run, and Pixie & the Partygrass Boys.

Music around Glenwood

Music on the Mountain happens at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, a top-of-the-world venue for Colorado concerts. America’s only mountaintop theme park is the setting for live music every Saturday night from 6 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 27. During the day, make the most of all the adventure park has to offer including Defiance, opening soon and the newest rollercoaster to join the adrenaline-pumping repertoire of thrill rides. Then, stick around for music, dancing, prizes, drink specials and more. If you just come for the concert, admission is the cost of a gondola ticket to the mountaintop park.

Featured at the Adventure Park in 2022 is the Missing Link Band, The Boys of Summer, A Band Called Alexis, Louie & the Lizards, My Blue Sky, The Johnny O. Band and Brother’s Keeper.

Hotel Colorado is the place for laid-back concerts featuring soloists three nights a week. Every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 9 to 11 p.m., listen to music, socialize and dine outdoors in the courtyard at the Hotel Colorado Restaurant & Bar.

Talented artists who perform regularly at Hotel Colorado include Suzzanne Paris, an award-winning singer and songwriter; Rodrigo Arreguin, a guitarist playing covers of hits from the 1960s onward; and Richard Ganson, who sings a mix of tunes from blues, rock and reggae genres.

Moonlight Restaurant & Bar is new to the Glenwood Springs dining scene. Serving steak, seafood and other delicious fare in an atmosphere that is low-key, casual and at the same time contemporary and romantic; the restaurant is also a fresh venue for live music in town. Moonlight’s summer lineup features mellow acoustic and classical sounds on Friday and Saturday nights.

Bethel Plaza under the Grand Avenue Bridge is a hub for many Glenwood Springs restaurants but come summer it’s also a hot spot for all-age entertainment. The fun kicks off on Thursdays with free movie nights in July and August. The family friendly showings start at 8 p.m. Come back on Fridays to get the weekend off to a groovy start with Music on 7th. The free concert series takes place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Check back with City of Glenwood Springs for the 2022 summer lineup. As at all Glenwood Springs parks, dogs but must be kept on a lead at all times.
