Sunlight Ski & Bike Now Offers e-Bike Rentals – Battery-Powered Bikes Enhance the Ride

SUNLIGHT MOUNTAIN RESORT – May 10, 2018 – Sunlight Ski & Bike Shop now offers e-bike rentals. Built by Trek Bicycles, these battery-powered “pedal-assist” bikes enhance the riding experience by making pedaling easier.

For people who are not frequent riders, e-bikes open up a whole new world. When you hop on and push the pedals, a small motor engages and gives you a boost, so you can zip up hills with a loaded backpack and cruise over challenging terrain without running out of steam. The harder you pedal, the bigger the boost you get, and the faster you ride—to a point. The motor is governed to limit your speed to about 20 to 28 mph (depending on the bike).

“We’re excited to add e-bikes to our rental fleet, this opens up new adventures to locals and visitors alike who might not otherwise have been interested in biking, perfect for exploring Glenwood Canyon, the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond,” says Kevin Horch, manager of Sunlight Ski & Bike Shop.

Horch adds that overall sales of e-bikes grew by 60 percent in 2016 alone. With Sunlight Ski & Bike’s new e-bike rentals, riders now have a chance to try before they buy.

Sunlight offers both on-road, and off-road e-bike rentals. Half-day rentals are $60, full-day rentals are $75.
