Where to Retire? In Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Glenwood Springs Featured in Where to Retire Magazine

Houston, TX (June 5, 2018) – Glenwood Springs, CO, has been selected as a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, the only magazine in America geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. The city is profiled in the July/August 2018 issue, available nationwide on June 12.

Where to Retire Editor Annette Fuller said Glenwood Springs possesses qualities important to today’s retirees.

“In 1888, the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort opened the world’s largest hot springs pool, bringing wealthy vacationers. Its history also revolves around the Ute people, mining and ranching, but today it’s known for the call of the outdoors, from fly-fishing to snow skiing and hiking in the Rockies. Retirees say the city is much less costly and cold than nearby Aspen,” Fuller said.

“One retiree said she wakes up every day thinking she’s in heaven.”

Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire.

Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than those who choose to not relocate. They bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns. Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to attract retirees as a source of economic development.
