Glenwood Springs has nordic (also known as cross-country) trails at Sunlight Mountain Resort and at Ironbridge Golf Course. It’s easy to see the appeal of Nordic or cross-country skiing, a sport that combines bursts of slower-paced movement with some faster-moving downhill momentum. Rarely are there crowds or lift lines with which to contend, and trails are always free to use. Visitors can find nordic ski trails two places in Glenwood Springs:

Babbish Gulch at Sunlight Mountain Resort is a maintained trail system which consists of a network of over 29 kilometers of trails. Trails are clearly marked beginner, intermediate and advanced. Skiers share the trail with snowshoers.
