CMC Spring Valley Trail System

OVERVIEW

The CMC Spring Valley Trail System has 8 miles/12.8 km of existing and newly completed singletrack. The new trails have been designed specifically for mountain biking and offer a wide range of features. The terrain combines pinon and juniper pine forests with sage and cactus. The majestic views of Mt. Sopris can be distracting so keep your eyes on the trail!

From the main campus trailhead, one can start by climbing the upper loop, or descending to the lower loop which surrounds a 22-acre solar array. Both loops combine to make the 4.7-mile State Championships racecourse for the Colorado High School Cycling League.

After climbing the upper loop to the water tower at the highest point on campus, there are 3 options to descend, ranging from a green trail (Dreamer), a blue trail (Slacker) and a one-way directional downhill black trail (Battl’r). These trails were professionally built to deliver inspiring views and progressively more technical challenges.

For younger riders, the one-mile practice loop has minimal elevation gain and is close to campus.

Trails are marked and listed with direction of recommended travel. Trailheads, parking, water and restroom facilities are available at the Field House during open school hours, available here (link to FH page). The CMC campus is dog-free so please leave your pets at home. Trails are open for use from dawn ‘til dusk. Per guidance from the Colorado Parks & Wildlife agency, trails are seasonally closed from December 1 to April 30. Download the trail map HERE.
