Crowd watching Strawberry Days Concert

Strawberry Days and Summer Music in Glenwood Springs

Warmed up and ready to play on stages across Glenwood Springs, live music entertainment hits all the right notes in the hot springs town, including at the one-and-only Strawberry Days Festival in June.

Attending an outdoor concert is always an exhilarating experience, but never more so than when that performance takes place in a stunning vacation destination with the river or the mountains as a backdrop. Glenwood Springs is Colorado’s premier hot springs and adventure town; and, come summer, from the valley floor to the mountain top the whole town reverberates with a joyful sound!

All Eyes on Strawberry Days Main Stage

One of Glenwood’s most anticipated annual musical events takes place every year at Strawberry Days celebrated in mid-June, most years over Father’s Day weekend (the third full weekend in June), at Two Rivers Park. The town’s civic celebration started in 1887 as a community picnic to commemorate the strawberry harvest. Since then it has become a multi-day festival that features a full entertainment lineup along with an arts and crafts fair, food court, beer garden, Family Fest and community parade. Honoring its original roots, in a longstanding tradition, service clubs dish free strawberries and ice cream until the line dwindles or they run out!

The Glenwood Springs Chamber together with generous sponsors hosts the event which attracts big-name bands from across the country and well-known local talent. Performances take place on the Main Stage starting on Friday afternoon. Opening bands take the stage at 4 and 6 p.m., followed by a headliner dance band to get the crowds on their feet beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, the pace just accelerates with shows kicking off at noon and continuing through the afternoon with a broad range of sounds that could encompass everything from marching bands to country and zydeco. The highlight of the weekend is the Saturday night headliner, a band guaranteed to be upbeat and high-energy. The music keeps playing on Sunday as well, the final day of the festival, although with a slower, mellower, Sunday-style groove.

Hitting the High Notes at Music on the Mountain

If you want to elevate your concert-going experience, attend a Music on the Mountain performance at the highest-elevation theme park in North America—Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Situated at the summit of Iron Mountain in Glenwood Springs, you’ll arrive at the concert venue via a gondola. Expect to be as blown away by the views as by the music. Concerts take place on designated Saturdays and a few Sundays from late June through mid-September. Grab dinner, beer and cocktails while you’re up top at either the Lookout Grille or the Smokehouse. The concerts also do good for the community. Each musical evening, a portion of the proceeds will benefit a local non-profit organization. For the most up-to-date information about artists and shows, visit Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.

Sweet Sounds of Summer of Music

Glenwood Springs Colorado Summer of Jazz Concert Event

The bandshell at Two Rivers Park is the place to go for mid-week music. The six-week-long Summer of Music starts in late June and runs through August, on Wednesday nights with opening artists beginning at 6:30 p.m. The concert series is known for showcasing up-and-coming artists from around the country. Always an eclectic mix, look for American roots, New Orleans jazz, soul and of course, good old-fashioned rock-n-roll! To enjoy, bring a low-profile chair or blanket, a picnic dinner or grab a bite from food vendors. Some things to leave at home include pets and glass bottles. If you bring beverages, just make sure they are in non-breakable containers.

Sunset Sounds

Take relaxation to the next level in Glenwood Springs-style. While you soak in the geothermal water, musicians strum, sing and entertain pool-goers at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. The famed attraction features live music over eight weeks in summer. Sunset Sounds takes place every Tuesday evening in June and July, from 6 to 9 p.m. The only exception to the schedule is the concert that would fall on Tuesday, July 4th has been bumped to the following evening, Wednesday, July 5.

Strawberry Days and Glenwood’s other music-centered events capture the essence of carefree joy and summertime celebration. Learn more about our vibrant outdoor concerts and make plans to visit Glenwood Springs this summer!
