Level Orange for Garfield County:
On December 30, the Governor’s office announced on Twitter that it is asking Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to move all counties currently under the Level Red to Level Orange on the state’s COVID-19 dial. This would become effective Monday, January 4, 2021. The governor is making this move in response to a 13-day downward trend in cases statewide, and a plea from counties that are suffering economically.
This move would allow counties to reopen restaurants for indoor dining at 25% capacity (or 50 people) and gatherings would increase to no more than 10 people from two different households. Gyms would also see a capacity increase from 10% to 25% capacity.
According to the directive given by Garfield County Board of County Commissioners, Garfield County is currently enforcing up to Level Orange on the COVID-19 dial with variances in place.
Limiting the disease’s spread is encouraged by having residents & visitors practice safety guidelines of wearing masks, washing their hands often, limiting travel as much as possible, and above all, staying home when ill.

SAVE OUR SEASON – STOP OUR SPREAD: Help us stay open!
It’s time to act now before it’s too late to save our ski season. At this point it’s on us – if we don’t do something the State of Colorado could be forced to close ski mountains, hot springs and beloved attractions, causing the collapse of many struggling mountain businesses. We have to change our behavior today to quickly reduce COVID transmission. And we can!
TAKE THE PLEDGE
By now we all know what social distancing is. Let’s pledge to stop COVID spread by following the prevention guidelines published by health and government leaders. Limit contact to your family or household unit.
