Late January to early March Event Highlights in Glenwood Springs

The winter is a great time to enjoy some of the great events with plenty of things-to-do in Glenwood Springs. Don’t let the cold keep you from participating in the many activities and events. In addition to soaking in our famous hot springs, now is the time to take in a comedy show or musical, discover new music, celebrate a special holiday, enter a race or cheer on athletes. Glenwood Springs is an easy place to make fun-filled vacation plans.

Jan 24 & 31, Feb 7, 14, 21 & 28: Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Kick-start the weekend with entertaining live music, delicious food and thirst-quenching drink specials from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Guests can ride the Glenwood Gondola for free on Fridays starting at 4 p.m. with a coupon that appears in the Glenwood Springs Post Independent. One coupon is valid for a gondola ride for up to four people.

January 27, 28 & 29: An Evening at Moulin Rouge at the Riveria Supper Club & Piano Bar – Riviera’s Broadway Musical Dinner Series continues with An Evening at Moulin Rouge.
Enjoy fine cuisine and entertainment with seatings at 5:00, 7:15 and 9:30 pm. Reservations are required.

Feb 1-9: 2020 Roaring Fork Restaurant Week – Get out and eat at your favorite local restaurants or discover a new favorite during 2020 Roaring Fork Restaurant Week. Local restaurants will be featuring prix fixe or à la carte menus based on $10, $20 and $40 price points throughout the week.

Feb 8: Love Glenwood Springs Family Fun Fest – Join the Glenwood Springs Citizens’ Alliance for a half day of fun for youngsters, along with info about the proposed limestone mine on Transfer Trail. Activities include a bouncy house, obstacle course, magic shows, face painting, photo booth, and art projects, plus prizes, yard signs, stickers, t-shirts and ball caps and free food and beverages.9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Glenwood Community Center.

Feb 8: Ski Spree & Taste of Sunlight at Sunlight Mountain – The Mountain Treasure Hunt kicks off the day at Sunlight Mountain while the 4th Annual Taste of Sunlight starts at 2 p.m. offering great food and free music.

Feb 14: I hate Valentine’s Day Party at the Glenwood Brew Garden – No broken hearts here except for the Piñata filled with treats for the happily single.

Feb. 23: Sunlight Mountain’s Snow Shoe Shuffle – Snow Shoe Shuffle is sponsored by C.A.R.E. Registration 9am, race begins at 10am.

Feb 7 to March 28, Friday & Saturday: Winter Musical: Into The Woods Glenwood Vaudeville Revue – The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.​ James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece…and a rare modern classic.

Feb 28: Great Gatsby Benefit Gala at the Hotel Colorado – Ring in 2020 in Roaring 20’s style. Dazzle and dance the night away at Symphony in the Valley’s Great Gatsby Benefit Gala. Grab those beaded flapper dresses and fedoras and enjoy live swing music, big band, local singers, and elegant eats.

March 6: Empowerfest at Riverview School – The Empowerfest was created by a group of eighth grade students at Riverview School. These students decided that they wanted to work hard this year to empower the community. The event started as a way to empower women, but has grown to much more than that. Before we hear from our speakers, guests will have a chance to walk around booths to learn about local non-profits and foundations in the community.

March 6: Defiance Challenge – The Defiance Challenge is a fun 10 hour lift served event where teams of 2 ski/ride 40 of Sunlight’s premier expert runs to raise funds, which assist the Sunlight Volunteer Ski Patrol acquire equipment needed to maintain a high level of training and better serve the skiers and riders of Sunlight Mountain Resort.  Half of the event proceeds are also donated to the family of a fallen Patroller.
