The gem of Glenwood Canyon, Hanging Lake, is one of Colorado’s most beloved visitor sites. In order to manage the impact on the hugely popular trail, reservations will be required for everyone to experience this hike. Hikers can reserve their spots beginning on April 1, when the Hanging Lake reservations system goes into effect. Reservations to visit Hanging Lake will cost $12 per person which includes free parking at the Hanging Lake Welcome Center, shuttle service to and from the trailhead and access to restroom facilities. A portion of the funds will also go toward helping to preserve and protect the fragile Hanging Lake environment, provide a forest ranger presence, improved trail maintenance, interpretative signage and visitor information.
