WULFSOHN TRAIL

Just over four miles in length, this trail is ideal for polishing the technical aspects of mountain biking close to town. Narrow passages, gullies and rollicking downhills keep riders coming back.

Located behind the Glenwood Springs Community Center and Glenwood Meadows Shopping Center, this trail system of rocky singletrack cinder walking paths also connects to the Red Mountain Trails for extended mileage and higher elevation adventures. The Wulfsohn Mountain Park offers diverse terrain for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. A portion of the system is comprised of an easy cinder path that loops throughout the park, connecting the trailheads at the southeast near the Glenwood Springs Community Center with those at the northwest end near where the RFTA bus maintenance yard is located.

To enjoy the area’s singletrack trails, consider a clockwise loop on the Wulfsohn – South, Defiance, Wulfsohn – North and Stevie Bob Trails, or turn it into a figure 8 loop by adding in Vanderhoofin’ It. While the singletrack is often twisty and rocky, it’s never too challenging; finding the best line is usually pretty easy. The descents are mostly brief, but the fun flow factor is real. In the middle of the park you may note a major catchment basin that’s designed to protect the nearby shopping stores and restaurants of Glenwood Meadows.
